September 2022: As of October 1, 2022, the Tennessee Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program will align itself with the CDC’s lead reference level for children, lowering the value from 5 to 3.5 micrograms  per deciliter.

March 2022: Tennessee Early Intervention Services updates eligibility for services.

TEIS (The Tennessee Early Intervention System) has reduced the blood lead level that qualifies children for their services.  Accordingly, eligibility begins with a blood lead level of 5 µg/dL, as confirmed by two venous or four capillary tests.  The previous eligibility threshold was 10 µg/dL.
